It has finally arrived, the final battle against the Black Mage is upon us. If you have been playing or following MapleStory for a while you know that the Black Mage is the big bad of the Maple World. Always he was in the background but now it is time to bring the fight to him. Are you ready? I’m ready.

The final chapter is here for the war with the Black Mage. In this update players are getting two new Tenebris areas, the battle against Commander Verus Hilla, and of course the final battle against the Black Mage. Only players level 200 or greater and have completed the 5th job advancement will be able to access Labyrinth of Suffering and Tenebris’ second area. This update brings a lot of new stuff. Every class is getting a 5th job skill.

New Defense Missions are also coming. Players can help the Maple Allaince by doing these mission.

  • Defense Mission: Flame Bird Support- Players can learn the Flame Bird’s Summon skill by talking to Helena. While the Flame Bird is summoned, defeated monsters will drop Flame Bird’s Determination
  • Defense Mission: Twilight Defense - This mission involves 2-4 characters joining forces to defeat enemies using cannons and protect the castle walls
  • Defense Mission: Battle at Sea - Players must defeat enemies within the time limit with ships and crew members

To unlock the Black Mage boss battle, the final fight, the Maple Alliance with the help of players must gather “Determinaton” to power up the Spark of Determination. The Black Mage Boss Battle will be realeased only then and a tough one it will be. The Black Mages HP is shared across  all worlds so it is not a simple going in and beating a boss. All players across all worlds must work together to bring this big bad down. Gear up and get ready, this will be a tough one.
