According to Polish gaming magazine "Gram" (via PokemonHub), it appears that PvP will be coming to Pokemon Go by the end of this year. The magazine interviewed EMEA Marketing Manager Anne Beuttenmuller, who said, "Now we are working on the PvP mode, which will appear soon." The team is also working to introduce new Pokemon to the game as well as improve the recently released Trading Mode and "constantly improving the elements that we have available in the game".
We just introduced an improvement so you can add a note to your friend. The point is that you can have many people on your friends list and do not remember who is who. You can add a comment to that person. You can also segregate your friends list. The next thing that we want to add at the end of this year is the PvP Mode.
