PUBG Corp has announced the formation of a new studio called Striking Distance headed by former Call of Duty and Dead Space developer Glen Schofield. Striking Distance is working on an unnamed PlayerUnknown's Battlegrounds game. Schofield, while providing few details, did state that he has "the freedom to explore the PUBG universe" and that he's excited about possibilities that that brings which he "views as beyond the battle royale genre".
The only thing I can say now is that I’m not working on a sequel to PUBG, but an original narrative in the PUBG universe.— Glen A. Schofield (@GlenSchofield) June 26, 2019
We'll keep you posted as more is announced. What do you think a game in that universe could be? Shooter? RPG? Something akin to The Division? Leave us your ideas in the comments.
