A lengthy post has been published on the PlayerUnknown's Battlegrounds Steam page that provides details about the September update that is set to go live later today. In addition to the normal bug fixes and feature enhancements, a couple of notable issues are being addressed. These include addressing AFK players and the addition of first-person perspective ONLY servers and an update was provided about how the team is progressing on vaulting.

Vaulting will remain in a testing phase for the foreseeable future as the team is working to address bugs and side effects within the algorithm used to allow for this feature. "There are tens of thousands of objects that should be vaultable or climbable in Erangel. To perform the action, the geometry and properties of each object have to be dynamically detected and analyzed." The target for release of the vaulting mechanic is November.

Very little is said with specific regard to AFKers other than they have implemented new rules where idle players will NOT receive BPs. The team will be monitoring the new system over time and making adjustments.

In addition, foggy weather has been added that will definitely affect player sight and visuals. While it will ultimately be a rare weather phenomenon, during test server gameplay, it will have a higher chance to spawn for testing purposes.

You can check out the full details on the PlayerUnknown's Battlegrounds Steam page.
