Brendan "PlayerUnknown" Greene, the original creator of PlayerUknown's Battlegrounds, has announced that he is leaving PUBG's development to concentrate on a new role in the PUBG Corp. Amsterdam office. He will be overseeing "Special Projects" that will be instrumental in researching new game types and with game development. "We are tasked with exploring, experimenting, and creating new technologies, tools, pipelines, and gameplay, but for me it is more than that." he wrote.

"Online experiences and spaces can connect us in ways I only dreamed of when I first sat in front of a computer some 30 years ago. And it is those dreams of connecting others that is driving our work at PUBG Special Projects."

Greene will remain as PlayerUnknown's Battlegrounds' consulting creative director with Taeseok Jang, currently the art director, will take over development responsibilities.
