XBox One Patch to Add First-Person Support for Duos & Squad Play

A new patch will be deployed today for the North American and European XBox One versions of PlayerUnknown's Battlegrounds. It brings in first-person support for both Duos and Squad Play. Previously, first-person was only available in Solo mode.


'The Final Goal [is] to Launch the Title on Every Platform' According to PUBG Corp CEO

In a new interview with IvenGlobal, PUBG Corp CEO Han Kim has revealed that the company would like the game to become a "universal media franchise" and that "the final goal would be to launch the title on every platform". Currently, PUBG is available only on PC and XBox One, though release on other platforms is still out in the distant future. "PUBG will be an exclusive title on XBox One for some time" Kim said.


Steam Concurrent Users Set a New Record of 3M Online

The latest Steam Game & Player Statistics page reveals yet another PlayerUnknown's Battlegrounds record for PC: Over three million players were logged into the game concurrently on Steam in the last several hours. This smashes its month old record of 2.8M concurrent users.


PUBG to Launch v1.0 at 11:00 pm Tonight, Server Downtime Starts at 6:00 pm PST

PlayerUnknown's Battlegrounds will officially leave Early Access beginning at 6:00 pm Pacific / 9:00 pm Eastern at which time servers will be brought down for maintenance and to deploy v1.0. It is expected that maintenance will last for five hours and that the game will "officially launch" at 11:00 pm Pacific / 2:00 am Eastern.

Within 48 hours of of release on XB1, PUBG sold over a million copies via the Preview Program. PUBG On XBox One - How Did THIS Happen?

Jumping into PlayerUnknown’s Battlegrounds on Xbox One this week, almost immediately I was met with something that just didn’t look or feel right. Having logged over 150 hours on the PC version, I went into PUBG on my Xbox One X expecting the same fevered gameplay with the obvious compromises consoles bring with them - controller in a reactive shooter, 30 frames per second and a reduction in visual quality. What I got, however, was worse than you could probably imagine.

PUBG Team Apologizes for Inappropriate Female Model on Test Server

PlayerUnknown's Battlegrounds players trying out the female character models on the game's test server were surprised to see a rather inappropriate female character model. The character is dressed in skin-tight shorts with genitalia prominently shown as a result. The model in question is a new one as earlier versions of female characters did not have this same imagery. PUBG to Launch 1.0 on December 20th, Miramar Map Live on Test Servers

Real Life Loot Boxes to Drop in Australia to Celebrate the XBox One Launch

When the XBox One version of PlayerUnknown's Battlegrounds launches in Australia next week (on December 12th via XBox Game Preview), XBox AU will be throwing out three real life PUBG-themed crates. One will be dropped in Sydney, one in Brisbane and one in Melbourne. The drops will be "live" on Saturday, December 9th.


UPDATED: Miramar is PUBG's Upcoming Desert Map + Loot Boxes & the Cheating Battle

While it's been in the testing phase for months now, little has been revealed about the next map coming to PlayerUnknown's Battlegrounds. That has all changed today thanks to an extensive post on the game's Steam page. The map is called Miramar and is set in the desert to give it a distinct look and feel from the Erangel map. Developers are hopeful that it will provide new ways to play where "the old strategies may no longer work and new tactics are required".


Two Chinese Mobile Games Based on PUBG Surface with Trailers

Tencent will be publishing a pair of mobile games in China based on PlayerUnknown's Battlegrounds. Each game has a brand new trailer that sports the PUBG Corp logo, so these are officially-sanctioned games. One is being developed by Tencent's Timi Studio and contains a new naval battles feature. The other is developed by Lightspeed & Quantum Studio and, according to Gamespot, "it looks like it's closer to the standard PC version.


Tencent & PUBG Corp Reveal Mobile Version for China

According to MMOCulture, Tencent and PUBG Corporation have revealed a cooperative effort to bring a game based on PlayerUnknown's Battlegrounds to mobile devices. According to sources inside PUBG Corp, development is "going smoothly" and that the game will soon be in the hands of Chinese gamers.


Tencent to Publish PUBG in China

PUBG Corp. has announced that it has inked a deal with gaming megacorporation Tencent to publish PlayerUnknown's Battlegrounds in China. The cooperative effort will see the two work to secure a stable network system and to enhance anti-cheat measures in the game. "In addition, there are plans to create a fair and sustainable ecosystem by seeking co-existence with key stakeholders, including live streaming platforms, media and PC cafes".
