Player Interview: "Tiel" of Horizons
New Feature Gives Us the Insights of a Real Player
Are you tired of reading “player reviews” on official websites? Often, these reviews are selected by the developers because they highlight something, or because they give the game a glowing recommendation. Well, we here at MMORPG.com have decided to take things one step further as we head in-game to find out what real players really think of their MMOs. This new interview feature allows our writers to log on to speak with players about everything from their personal characters to their opinions on the game itself. While our Staff Writers are still going to be busy at work bringing you their in-depth reviews, we invite you to come in and have a look at another point of view. Enjoy!
On August 23rd, I had the privilege of sitting down in-game with “Tiel”, one of the avid dragon players in Tulga Games’s Horizons. I enjoyed the opportunity to talk with someone so friendly and willing to talk about a game that she really enjoys.

Why don't you tell me a little bit about your character?
|
Tiel: |
Tiel is a pretty young dragon still at the moment, level 50 adventurer and level 46 in crafting. although she can handle mobs 10-15 levels above herself.

How long have you been playing Horizons?
|
Tiel: |
I have been playing for about 6 months, although Tiel is not my original character, she's my favorite :)

How did you come to this game?
|
Tiel: |
I was introduced to it by my husband, at the time fiancé. I fell in love and now I'm more addicted than ever.
|
MMORPG.com: |
How often do you play?
|
Tiel: |
Most days, some days when I'm getting behind in work I have to take the day off though, hehe.

What is the best feature of Horizons?
|
Tiel: |
Hmm, probably the variety in characters I can play. The bipeds are wonderfully mix and match with all their crafting and adventuring schools, but I do admit I like dragons the most, the flying is addictive. :P

MMORPG.com: |
What would you classify as the worst feature of Horizons?
|
Tiel: |
Well some of the features that should be in the game aren't. The Ancient Right of Passage is just now being completed. Some biped schools like Confectioner aren't complete with forms, etc. But Tulga seems to be getting into it. They're currently putting in lairs and a new crafting school for dragons.

Have you, or do you play any other MMORPGs?
|
Tiel: |
I play WoW :) and I've played a few others that aren't really considered MMORPGs, such as NightMist.
|
MMORPG.com: |
Really? How does Horizons stack up against a very popular and well renowned game like WoW?
|
Tiel: |
Well, WoW of course has the lovely graphics and nearly seamless and un-laggy play... It's different so there isn't really much comparison between the two, I really enjoy them both. I would like less lag on HZ though.

Tell me about a favorite Horizons moment.
|
Tiel: |
A little while ago there was a raid on Aughundell by Kwellen Commanders, a mob I had never seen before, because they were only level 80 I got to join in! I didn't die or anything, it was great :) And I was helping with this latest event, building and defending an outpost near the eastern blight on my husband's level 100/100 character :)

What is your opinion of Horizons?
|
Tiel: |
Horizons was my first major MMORPG and I believe it's definitely worth it. I may sound nostalgic, but whatever MMORPG I dabble in, Horizons will probably always be my home one.

A big thanks to Tiel for taking part in this maiden voyage of a new feature and an interesting counterpoint to today's re-review of Horizons.
