Pathfinder Online Disables All Purchases and Charges Ahead of Shutdown This Month

Pathfinder Online, which is set to shut down on November 28th, has disabled all transactions in the wind down to closure.


Pathfinder Online To Shut Down November 28th

Pathfinder Online's developers made the announcement today that the MMO will be coming to a close, sunsetting on November 28th. The MMO, which was Kickstarted for over a million dollars back in 2012, has seen its fair share of struggles over the years. However, Paizo has announced that the game will be coming to a close later this year, though they do state they will be working on a storyline for players to enjoy till the end.

Latest Update Sticks to the Roadmap and Delivers

The latest update to Pathfinder Online has been deployed. Earlier this year, the team laid out an extensive roadmap of new features and improvements it would be making to the game over the course of about a year. The first update has been deployed and has met all of the stated goals for the patch as well as being delivered on time with a few extra additions as well.


Independent Development To Continue & Looking For Its Niche

Paizo CEO Lisa Stevens has written an extensive letter to update backers and the Pathfinder Online community about the future of the game. After an independent analysis, it was determined that the game needs to find its niche but that it would be unlikely that any major player on the MMO scene would be interested in finishing development. As a result, Paizo has decided to move forward on its own to try to complete the game within next year.


Early Enrollment Update Deployed to Live Servers

Goblinworks has posted the latest patch notes for Pathfinder Online. This update, according to developers, features a long, long list of bug fixes, feature enhancements and the addition of quality of life improvements including the /stuck command to assist players.


Pending Funds Acquisition, New Ownership Coming Soon

Goblinworks acting CEO Lisa Stevens has sent out an update to inform backers and fans of Pathfinder Online that a letter of intent has been received that, if funding is acquired, will see transfer of ownership handed to a company headed by a longtime Pathfinder Online player. Once funding is attained, the company making the offer will take over PO beginning on March 1, 2016.

Paizo Restructuring the Team, Goblinworks Office Closes

According to several members of the Pathfinder Online community who participated in a special event via Mumble chat, Paizo is retaking control of Pathfinder Online and that the Goblinworks office has been closed. Additionally, listeners report that Ryan Dancey has been let go and that Lisa Stevens is now the CEO. All but three employees of Goblinworks have been released as well and the remaining personnel are being retrained.


Early Enrollment v10 Introduces New Features

Goblinworks have posted the release notes for recent Early Enrollment v10 for Pathfinder Online. The update includes the series of Escalations, Holding & Outpost Warfare, Mules and other bug fixes and feature enhancements.


New Mule System Detailed

The Pathfinder Online site has been updated with a new blog post to tell players about the new mule system. Players can craft saddlebags to get their first mule that begins with a relatively small inventory and encumbrance level, but one that can be increased over time. Mules attacked by other players are considered an attack on the player. Mules reaching 0 HP will sit down and be free for the taking. Player death also frees the mule that can then be claimed by any other player in the area.

Early Enrollment Patch Rolls Out

The v8.2 early enrollment patch for Pathfinder Online has been deployed and comes packed with content. Of significant note is the overhauled New Player Experience, changes and additions to outposts and holding, company "feuds", the introduction of elementals, and a bit about recruitment and buddy keys.
