Path of Exile 2 Overview
Path of Exile 2 is a stand-alone sequel to the hit ARPG Path of Exile. PoE 2 was originally planned as an expansion, but the development of the project became so big that it warranted being its own stand-alone entry. The developer, Grinding Gear Games, still plans on supporting both titles going forward, but each entry will have its own unique mechanics, endgames, and leagues.
GGG has announced that Path of Exile 2 will carry over all microtransactions that players have purchased in Path of Exile 1, with the exception being for any cosmetics that have exclusive mechanics.
At launch, Path of Exile 2 will have 12 classes, with a total of 36 Ascendancy classes, over 1500 passive skills, 240 active skills, and over 100 different environments with unique bosses for each one.
Currently, no release date has been given, but at Exilecon 2023 the Beta was announced for June 7, 2024.
