"If you're a bad person doing bad things in Overwatch, we don't want you in Overwatch" stated Jeff Kaplan in the latest Developer Update. The entire focus of this most recent developer video is the rising tide of toxicity in the game. Kaplan informs the community that he and his team are aware of the "rising tide of toxicity" and are actively working to tune the system to reduce bad behavior.
With the reporting system now live on consoles as well as on PC, Blizzard is working to refine and tweak the punishment thresholds as well as the punishments handed out for toxic behavior. So far, disciplinary action has been taken against 480,000 players, most of which were identified using the reporting system.
