A group of No Man's Sky community members recently started a GoFundMe initiative to raise money to place a billboard within walking distance of Hello Games' Guildford, UK studio. "Hello Games has put in a heroic effort to get NMS where it is today. As a community on r/NoMansSkyTheGame, we'd like to express our thanks." Originally seeking $1,750, the campaign has raised over $3k.
When the next big update comes to No Man's Sky, it will be bringing virtual reality with it. It will be compatible with every available headset and will be available on both Steam for PC and PlayStation 4 for PSVR. The Beyond update is currently planned for summer 2019.
Hello Games is teasing out No Man's Sky Beyond, the next major step forward for the game. Sean Murray said that Beyond will make big changes to the game in the same way that the Next content expansion did in summer 2018. Most notably, Murray wrote about "No Man's Sky Online", though he did say that NMS is not an MMO but that it will feature "a radical new social and multiplayer experience which empowers players everywhere in the universe to meet and play together".
No Man's Sky players looking for some spooky and claustrophobic action can look to today's deployment of The Abyss. Players will gain access to "aquatic environments with over five times more variety, new submersible vehicles, improved underwater visuals and much more". The Dreams of the Deep is a new series of aquatic missions that send players off on a journey of discovery as they track down a stranded freighter and its troubled crew.
The next No Man's Sky update is being prepared for deployment next week. Called "The Abyss", the content is said to focus "on some of the eerier elements of NMS in keeping with the theme of this season.
Sean Murray sent out a tweet over this past weekend that invites the community to "help us shape the future of No Man's Sky". As part of the initiative, fans and players can head to a special site called "No Man's Sky Explorer Feedback" and enter their suggestions of what they would like to see come to the game in the future.

After probably one of the quietest years in post-release game development, Hello Games has announced Atlas Rises, a long-awaited update to No Man's Sky. It is set for release on or near the anniversary of the game's deployment on August 9, 2016 for PlayStation 4 and PC/Steam. The free update aims to improve the story and will allow players to "quick travel" throughout the game universe.
The No Man's Sky Steam page has been updated with the news that the Pathfinder update will be deployed next week that will bring a new home planet vehicle into the game as well as further build on the recently deployed Foundation patch. Pathfinder also promises a hint at what may lay ahead in the future.
Hello Games has been cleared of all registered complaints that its Steam promotional advertising for No Man's Sky was in any way misleading. All claims against the company have been dismissed and no further review will be necessary by the Advertising Standards Authority (UK).
