Champions Online: Re-Review
In our continuing effort to revisit games that have been out for a year or more,'s Robert Schroeder takes a look at Cryptic Studios' Champions Online. Robert's got a lot to say about Champions so be sure to head through for a terrific read.

Overall I found my revisit to the universe of Champions to be enjoyable. The general atmosphere of the game and the community aspect really draws players in, even if it's not in a conventional sense. New zone progression, quests, and an entire new area to explore help to keep the game fresh for those returning to the game, whereas tweaked powers, a new class system, and a modified tutorial and UI help to introduce new players to the world and flourish as their crime-fighting persona.

Star Wars: The Old Republic: PAX Interview: PvP, Voidstar, and Replayability
During last weekend's PAX, Managing Editor Bill Murphy managed to corner Bioware's James Ohlen and Gabe Amantangelo to talk about PvP in Star Wars: The Old Republic. They covered a wide range of topics with regard to PvP that you simply must not miss.

Well, yeah we can give hints and nuggets. We'll be showing more during our panel, and telling folks a lot more about it, but basically we'll have designated areas where there will be PVP objectives. Philosophically we want to focus on making it like strike teams in an open world PVP environment as opposed to just zergs rushing all over. We want to capture those massive and even smaller battle moments from the movies.

We also want to expand it, and see how much we can get in before launch. But we want to expand it to territorial, staking your claim in an area sort of stuff.

Game of the Week

This week's Game of the Week is Bioware's upcoming MMORPG, Star Wars: The Old Republic, and why not? After all, the upcoming Star Wars MMO (the second, historically), is one of the most talked about upcoming games not only within the MMO genre, but in all of gaming.

With Bioware's reputation as a first class developer of single player RPGs, many video gamers find themselves wondering how the company will handle the challenge presented in the realm of multiplayer games.

With more and more information being leaked out about this game all the time, the opinions are coming in from all sides with players weighing in. Some would like to see the game more closely resemble the sandbox style of the original Star Wars Galaxies while others are looking forward to a near perfect continuation of Bioware's success with their previous Knights of the Old Republic title.

As information leans us more toward the latter than the former, it will be interesting to see what players think as this game comes closer and closer to launch.
