RIFT: Storm Legion Review In Progress - Part 1
Rift is expanding in a big way with Storm Legion, an addition that will bring new souls, new zones, and much more into the game. We will be discussing some of our thoughts about Storm Legion over the next couple of weeks before giving it our final and official review.

When I first played Rift during open beta 2 in 2011 I was blown away. I had not expected much from the game to start with. I had never heard of Trion and at the time was looking forward to the release of Tera. Once I learned Tera was not slated to be released until 2012 I decided to give Rift a try to fill the time void. I can remember the moment Rift sunk its claws in me and would not let go. I was playing as a Dwarf Warrior. Guardians were the only faction available that test weekend. I had recently ascended and was headed north up the road in Silverwood to the Argent Glade. Along the way a fire rift opened up. I was only level 6 and this rift was level 8, and it was Elite. I didn't stand a chance of survival. On the edge of the rift next to a tree I saw a little sparkle. While I now know that what I was looking at was an artifact at the time I was completely clueless, all I knew was that I had to go and pick it up. I was killed no less than 4 times as I worked out the path of the mobs inside the level 8 elite rift. I finally picked up the sparkle and collected it, and while I collected the sparkle, Trion collected me as a fan.

Guild Wars 2: A Peek into the November Update
ArenaNet has added a considerable amount of content to Guild Wars 2 in the game's November update and we've got a sneak peek at what players can expect to find. Read on for details!

The 'Temple of the Silent Storm' is a new map coming to Guild Wars 2 with the November content update. The map takes place on and inside a massive iceberg, which features a large temple that serves as a place of meditation and training dojo for Guild Wars 2's armored polar bear race, the Koden. ArenaNet is emphasizing a sense of verticality with this map and just like all of the Guild Wars 2 PvP maps, the 'Temple of the Silent Storm' will feature conquest gameplay with a twist.

Game of the Week
Released by Trion Worlds in early 2011, Rift takes place in the world of Telara where players take on the personality of an "Ascended." Two competing factions of Ascended, the Guardians and the Defiant, battle through the monsters of Telara in an effort to bring down Regulos, a dragon god bent on the complete destruction of Telara.

Rifts, or tears between various dimensions and Telara, are dynamic events that can open up quite suddenly. These events feature open grouping with players being able to join one another to defeat the creatures spewing forth from the rifts.

One of Rift's most compelling features is the Ascended Class System. Players begin by choosing one of four callings: Warrior, Mage, Rogue or Cleric. During the course of the game, players increase in strength and can "attune" their callings and mix and match "souls," or sub-classes, to become more specialized and flexible.
