Guild Wars: Eye of the North: Review
Eye of the North was released four years ago and was the final expansion for Guild Wars. In our latest review,'s Som Pourfarzaneh checks out Eye of the North and offers his thoughts on how it holds up after four years.

There's no denying that Guild Wars 2 is one of most hotly-anticipated MMOs on the market. ArenaNet and NCSoft have the potential to shake up the genre with all of the innovative concepts that they're putting into their new MMORPG, a true sequel to the original Guild Wars. Mobin Koohestani recently re-reviewed Guild Wars Trilogy, which is a compilation of the original three campaigns of the game, and with the release of Guild Wars 2 coming in 2012 and hopefully a beta this year; we're of the mind that now would be a great time to take a look at Guild Wars: Eye of the North.

Star Wars: The Old Republic: Republic Companions Preview
As the next Star Wars: The Old Republic beta weekend looms close,'s Bill Murphy, Garrett Fuller, Mike Bitton, and Chris Higgins had an opportunity to chat with one another about their experiences with companions during their game time recently.

Rest assured, those who are worried, that while companions are a main facet of the game, it's not hard at all to manage them, and it doesn't make the game suddenly "single-player" because the companions won't fulfill the need of having more people on harder missions. What they do is add to the story experience the same way characters add to the story of Mass Effect or KotOR. And while it is a little silly to see dozens of Coros Riggses or Aric Jorgans running around, there is some customization to help make them look somewhat different from player to player. Still, it's a significant thing to mention: everyone has companions, in the beginning you'll all have the same ones, and it's a bit weird to see people running around with doting clones. That said, we each feel that the depth of characterization and gameplay is enhanced by having them at your side, so it's really a double-edged sword.

Game of the Week
This week's Game of the Week is DC Universe Online, the super-powered MMO based on the iconic DC Comics IP. Developed by Sony Online Entertaiment for the PC and PlayStation 3 home console, DC Universe Online allows players to create their own heroes or villains and take to the streets of Metropolis and Gotham City to do good or evil.

In the game, players choose from a number of iconic heroes or villains to serve as their mentor as they work their way up in the world, undertaking action-packed missions that often culminate in stylized motion-comic cinematics and engaging boss fights against some of the DC Universe's most notable characters.

Earlier this year, SOE released their first DLC updated focused on Green Lantern content, including a new Light powerset. More recently, SOE re-launched DC Universe Online as a hybrid free-to-play MMO with a subscription option.
