Battle of the Immortals: Review
Perfect World Entertainment's Battle of the Immortals opened in 2010 and has been making steady improvements ever since. We've been putting BoI through its paces.

The world of Motenia is a hot mess. The main players in Motenia lore include The Dragon Emperor, a merciless dictator who was sealed in stone by the Witches of the Millennium; the Goddess of Fate, who had a vision which led her to believe that the Dragon Emperor would find a way to free himself; the Immortals who search for Odin, the God-King; and Demitrios, High Priest of Motenia, now corrupt and seething with hatred. Atop Mount Olympus, Demotrios offers his own blood as a sacrifice to wake Cronos, who in turn wages war upon the Immortals. The future of Motenia depends on the brave few (that would be you!) who will take arms against Cronos, the God of Kings.

Diablo III: Review-in-Progress Part One
After 12 years was Diablo III worth it? That's far too loaded a question to answer in just a single piece, so we're putting together a review-in-progress series leading up to our final review. Today, we look at Diablo III's launch day and offer our take on our experience with the game so far.

Diablo III didn't get off to a great start; in fact, it got off to a horrible start. As I write this article, the servers are down for maintenance, which is pretty much par for the course over the last 24 hours. I was hoping to finish Act I by the time I put this thing together, but alas, isn't feeling cooperative. A lot of readers like to point out that Diablo III isn't an MMO whenever we post an article or news post about the game, but it looks like the game shares at least one thing in common with MMOs: crap launch days. They've gotten better over the years, sure, but Diablo III's launch experience hearkens back to MMO launches of old due to the widespread instability and lack of service. That 'always online' bit? Not such a great idea after all, eh?

Game of the Week
WildStar is a sci-fi MMORPG developed by Carbine Studios. The game features a vibrant cartoony art style and places players on the planet of Nexus as one of three classes announced so far (Soldiers, Espers, and Spellslingers) each with unique gameplay mechanics along with a "Momentum" focused combat system that encourages players to kill things often and quickly. Outside of the game's visual style, WildStar's distinct gameplay paths are what's stirring up all the buzz surrounding the game.

Players can play the game pursuing combat oriented goals typical to most MMOs, or they can even opt towards a fully-functional path of exploration, where advancement is achieved via exploration of the unusual planet of Nexus. Not much else is known about the game at this time, but it's certainly a game we are keeping a close eye on here at
