Late last week, Funcom began a countdown to reveal a brand new game in the company's stable. Now we know that it is Mutant Year Zero: Road to Eden, a tactical adventure game that comes complete with "a deep storyline set on a post-human Earth". It will combine strategy and turn-based combat most recently seen in XCOM along with "real-time exploration and stealth gameplay". The game is in development by former members of the Hitman team and Ulf Andersson, the original designer behind Payday.

Grinding Gear Games has announced the release of its latest Path of Exile content expansion, Bestiary. The new content is available for both PC and XBox One users and brings a host of new activities to the game. Most notably, players will be able to hunt and capture almost 300 creatures throughout Wraeclast and use them sacrificially to "create and augment potent items".

Closers is one of the latest combatants entering the arena of online action hybrids coming out of Korea. Unlike more traditional "isometric view" ARPG style games, Closers is a side scrolling beat'em-up featuring a hybrid combat system, social hubs, and character classes with elements of RPG progression. Trion Worlds has announced Defiance 2050, a reimagined version of the original game that is better suited to the current generation of consoles and to better take advantage of the power of today's PCs. Defiance 2050 will launch in Summer 2018 for PlayStation 4, XBox One and PC.

Trion Worlds shocked the lot of us yesterday by announcing a sequel to Defiance called Defiance 2050. Released by Trion Worlds in early 2011, Rift takes place in the world of Telara where players take on the personality of an "Ascended." Two competing factions of Ascended, the Guardians and the Defiant, battle through the monsters of Telara in an effort to bring down Regulos, a dragon god bent on the complete destruction of Telara.
