Salem: Review
Paradox Interactive released its first MMO, Salem, not too long ago. It's a hardcore sandbox experience, according to the development team. Does it deliver? Find out in our latest review before heading to the comments.

Salem has a certain charm to its aesthetics. There's not a lot you can do with a Java based game such as this, but a great job has been done to accommodate for this time period. Zones are generated around different seasons. For example, the zone I was placed in was in Autumn. Leaves cover the ground, and brightly coloured trees covered the surrounding area, with their leaves dropping in the process. It's a good take on each zone, and adds some charisma to the game.

The PAX East 2013 Awards
Now that PAX East is behind us, our team got together to talk about the games they saw and have come to a consensus as to which ones were the best of the best. See what they chose for the PAX East 2013 Awards and then head to the comments to discuss.

Elder Scrolls Online finally unleashed a playable build for the fans on the show floor. The wait time kicked into about three and a half hours just minutes after the doors opened. The team did an amazing job of talking to fans and keeping everyone in line happy. It was clear after players walked out of the booth that ESO has something special coming when they launch. Overall the gameplay won our team over for Elder Scrolls Online. The fact that it was such a strong combination of Skyrim-styled combat mixed with MMO staples really captured our attention. It was clear from the players and our team's reaction that Elder Scrolls Online was Best of Show at PAX East. We cannot wait to see what they show at E3.

Game of the Week
The Secret World is an MMORPG created by Funcom (Anarchy Online, Age of Conan: Unchained), with Senior Producer and Creative Director Ragnar Tørnquist (The Longest Journey, Dreamfall). It blends elements of mythological and modern day civilizations, along with a mix of dark fantasy and the supernatural, and has no character classes.

In The Secret World, where urban legends, myths, and conspiracy theories are all true, the only question is: what do you do now?
