Funcom has released the first gameplay trailer from Conan Exiles, the company's foray into the survival MMO genre. In this trailer, sandstorms, crafting and giant bugs are shown off in the minute plus and very beautiful trailer.

Out of left field, it seems that Cryptic Studios' Co-Founder Jack Emmert has been named as CEO of Daybreak Austin, the studio responsible for DC Universe Online.

Those of you that know me well are aware that I don't much care for massive online battle arenas (MOBA). While I appreciate them from a game design perspective, especially the difficult work that goes into level design and class balance, I don't find them much fun to play. So you may find it somewhat surprising that I actually enjoy SMITE.

Cryptic Studios and Perfect World Entertainment have a pair of big announcements for Neverwinter. In summer 2016, Neverwinter will make the jump to PlayStation 4 that will include the base game, all eight playable classes and nine expansions.

Last week Crowfall put out an update named "Powers Prediction" (I highly recommend reading it before reading this column in order to make sense of either) talking about how they plan to fix their combat so that it feels responsive. Fortunately, they are getting closer to a solution, unfortunately this is the third fairly serious problem that Crowfall has had to deal with in nearly as many months. (I consider the switch to vessels and the launch delay the other two although the launch delay was likely directly in relation to this issue which they have a solid plan for.)
