Dungeons & Dragons Online: Re-Review
It is our habit to periodically revisit and re-review games that are showing continued improvement and a solid pattern of updates. One of the MMOs that clearly fits this description is Dungeons & Dragons Online. writer Lori May takes a fresh look at DDO in today's re-review.

Dungeons & Dragons Online definitely offers a lot to both the casual and the hardcore players out there. Few MMOs can rival it in terms of customization, and that complete control over the spectrum of your characters' proficiencies, abilities and talents is a refreshing change. The frequent updates introduce new monsters, zones and equipment into the game on a fairly regular schedule, so things don't get too stale. If you're looking for PvP or a stellar crafting system, you might want to look elsewhere; if you happen to be looking for a quality game perfect for a group of friends--or anyone bold enough to indulge in PUGs--then this one might be well worth your time to download. Considering the F2P offers a nice selection of options, you don't have to invest a cent to give this one a try, and you don't have to be a D&D player or rules expert to succeed (though it does help), there really isn't anything to lose. And if you've tried this one out before, it might be time to take a second look--I'm certainly glad I did.

Star Wars: The Old Republic: Advanced Classes Interview Industry Relations Manager Garrett Fuller has a treat for fans of Star Wars: The Old Republic in the form of our exclusive interview with Principle Lead Combat Designer Georg Zoeller. Advanced Classes are the topic of the discussion and it's certainly one you will not want to miss!

For Advanced Classes, we're working to ensure that each class is viable in their roles (e.g. all Advanced Classes that can fill a medic role are designed to be fully viable as such) and that there is no second class citizen.

A lot of thought is also going into the design of the technology based classes to ensure they match the Force using classes in capability. Jedi are fearsome opponents, but certainly not immune to some well timed shots in the back from an Imperial Agent's sniper rifle or the flames of a Bounty Hunter's flamethrower.

As always, please remember Star Wars: The Old Republic is in ongoing Game Testing and as part of that, any of the details provided here about skills and abilities might change before the game launches.

This week's Game of the Week is Funcom's The Secret World.

The Secret World is an in-development MMORPG by Funcom. An original story, it will take place in the modern day as well as ancient mythology and civilizations long gone, blending these elements into what is being called a dark fantasy with supernatural elements.

A battle between good and evil will unfold and players will be a part of it, building up their supernatural powers (there are no classes) and shaping their characters as they desire. The game will also include depictions of some real locations as well as fictional ones.

With E3 just around the corner, we expect that The Secret World will be becoming less and less secret in the near future.
