Dungeons & Dragons Online: Re-Review
It is our habit to periodically revisit and re-review games that are showing continued improvement and a solid pattern of updates. One of the MMOs that clearly fits this description is Dungeons & Dragons Online. writer Lori May takes a fresh look at DDO in today's re-review.

Dungeons & Dragons Online definitely offers a lot to both the casual and the hardcore players out there. Few MMOs can rival it in terms of customization, and that complete control over the spectrum of your characters' proficiencies, abilities and talents is a refreshing change. The frequent updates introduce new monsters, zones and equipment into the game on a fairly regular schedule, so things don't get too stale. If you're looking for PvP or a stellar crafting system, you might want to look elsewhere; if you happen to be looking for a quality game perfect for a group of friends--or anyone bold enough to indulge in PUGs--then this one might be well worth your time to download. Considering the F2P offers a nice selection of options, you don't have to invest a cent to give this one a try, and you don't have to be a D&D player or rules expert to succeed (though it does help), there really isn't anything to lose. And if you've tried this one out before, it might be time to take a second look--I'm certainly glad I did.

Defiance: E3 2011 Impressions
Trion Worlds is stepping out with Defiance during this year's E3 in Los Angeles. Industry Relations Manager Garrett Fuller made sure to head to Trion Worlds' booth post haste on Day 1 of E3 to take a look at Defiance. Check out Garrett's impressions of the Syfy - Trion Worlds effort.

Defiance will be a persistent world. Thousands of players will be on the servers at once and people will be able to jump in and out of the game like a normal MMO. There is a mission story line which players can go through solo. Then there is also group play factored into it. They are planning very large dynamic events, similar to what we have seen in RIFT. Interlacing all of this game play with the TV show is the tricky part. Right now the demonstration really showed off the game more than the show. There are major plans to incorporate lots of elements of the show within the game as they build up.

This week's Game of the Week is Bioware's upcoming MMORPG, Star Wars: The Old Republic, and why not? After all, the upcoming Star Wars MMO (the second, historically), is one of the most talked about upcoming games not only within the MMO genre, but in all of gaming.

With Bioware's reputation as a first class developer of single player RPGs, many video gamers find themselves wondering how the company will handle the challenge presented in the realm of multiplayer games.

With more and more information being leaked out about this game all the time, the opinions are coming in from all sides with players weighing in. Some would like to see the game more closely resemble the sandbox style of the original Star Wars Galaxies while others are looking forward to a near perfect continuation of Bioware's success with their previous Knights of the Old Republic title.

As information leans us more toward the latter than the former, it will be interesting to see what players think as this game comes closer and closer to launch.
