Turbine is transitioning into a free-to-play, mobile development studio, and as a result we are eliminating some positions. The Lord of the Rings Online and Dungeons and Dragons online games will continue to operate as they do now. Re-focusing and reducing the studio size was a difficult decision for the company, and we are grateful to all of the Turbine staff for their considerable contributions.

Players are flocking to the Riders of Icarus open beta now that it has officially kicked off after a week of early access for founder's pack owners. The game can be downloaded directly or via Steam. Nexon is looking for feedback from players during the event and has provided a number of ways to submit comments.

Landmark started out as a game tied very closely to EverQuest Next. Unfortunately, EverQuest Next was canceled and now Landmark has launched as a standalone game. I don't tend to often enjoy sandbox games too much and I've never really gotten into the whole "Minecraft" sorts of games, so for me Landmark was really different from the usual... and it is quite enjoyable though there are a few issues.

Bethesda has announced that a Gold Edition of Elder Scrolls Online will be released on September 9th. The new edition of the game will contain all four DLC, Imperial City, Orsinium, Thieves Guild and Dark Brotherhood as well as a palomino horse.

It's been a week or so since Riders of Icarus entered Open Beta (for Founders at least), and I've been finding it oddly cathartic and relaxing to delve into a new MMORPG that doesn't seem afraid to let its Inspired-By flag fly. While a lot of Riders of Icarus is clichéd, the game's got a certain sense of charm and I find myself wanting to log in regardless of knowing exactly where the adventure leads.
