Former Hearthstone Executive Producer Ben Brode has resurfaced with a huge announcement today. Brode and Hamilton Chu (also former Hearthstone) formed Second Dinner in late 2018 but have been cagey about what they were up to...until today. The pair have revealed a $30M minority investment from NetEase and a deal with Marvel for an as-yet-unannounced mobile game.

Little Orbit took over the reins for Fallen Earth in May 2018. Since then, developers have been quietly working away to solve "crippling bugs and a low player base". In addition, devs felt that the project was one that would take a lot of time to work through. In a new post on the Fallen Earth site, Matt Scott has reviewed the work that has been tackled and / or completed and provided a look ahead at the coming year as the team works to move the game to a new engine.

The new year is upon us, and that can only mean one thing. Time for us to look back at the year that was while bracing for the year ahead and recount the best (and worst) games we played during the last twelve months. The entire writing staff of was polled for this year's awards, and each game that won had a majority vote in its favor.

Over the holidays, Anthem and EA released some new information about the upcoming demos for the game. There will be two demos made available, one for "VIPs" who preorder the game or who are EA/Origin Access members and a second free demo that anyone can play. The VIP demo will be available from January 25th to January 27th and those who take part will earn an exclusive item after Anthem launches. The open demo will be available from February 1st to February 3rd.

Another year, another list of the games we hope don't suck in 2019. MMOs have been waiting what seems forever to get something new, and this year there is no shortage of upcoming games to look forward to. The question is - will any of them actually release in 2019, or will it be another year of waiting for the next big thing?
