The Crowfall team has grown by one with today's announcement of the ongoing collaboration with renowned MMO designer Raph Koster. According to a new post on the Crowfall forum, Mr. Koster has been working with the team on the crafting system and other features. In addition to this big news, the forum post goes into more detail about the game's universe and delves into some of the first meaty information about crafting and economy in Crowfall.

During last night's BAFTA ceremony, Star Citizen's Chris Roberts revealed the target timeline for each of the game's components to be released. Star Citizen is a four-games-in-one creation that includes a persistent first person universe, a single player campaign, space exploration and combat and an FPS component. If all goes according to plan, Star Citizen should be in final release in 2016.

The rumors can end now, folks. It's official, as of this moment in time. Elder Scrolls Online is ditching its subscription model in favor of a model more akin to Guild Wars 2. Rebranding itself as Elder Scrolls Online: Tamriel Unlimited, players now will simply buy the base game, gain access to all of its content, and never pay another dime unless they deem it necessary. In addition, the PS4 and XBOX One Editions will be launching officially on June 9th. It's all coming up Tamriel this year, it seems. However, that's not quite all she wrote.

Neojac has announced that its Atavism engine has officially launched on Steam. According to press information, Atavism allows builders to focus on the game world without having to be programmers. Atavism costs $70, though builders can snag a copy for $59.49 for the first two weeks of release.

Like many of you, I was enthusiastic about the promise of Rocket's ARMA 2 mod, DayZ. Zombies weren't completely played out at this point and the notion of trying to survive a zombie apocalypse alongside other players in a persistent world really scratched an itch I wasn't sure any game developer was ever going to address. Unfortunately, DayZ (the mod) had numerous issues, not the least of which was the game's terrible engine, but there was a silver lining! Rocket was hired by Bohemia Interactive and given his own team to work on a standalone version of the mod. I don't really need to go through the rest of the story, but suffice it to say, things haven't measured up to expectations.

The Elder Scrolls Online is a fantasy MMORPG from Zenimax Online Studios and Bethesda Softworks based on the popular Elder Scrolls series. The game takes place during the Age of Heroes, 1,000 years before the events of The Elder Scrolls V: Skyrim, and will feature classic regions of the Tamriel game world, including Morrowind, Daggerfall, and Skyrim. The Elder Scrolls Online will have solo and group questing, public dungeons, guilds, and massive PvP warfare that sets the game's three player factions against one another for control over the region of Cyrodiil and the throne of Tamriel.
