Anthem is going live today for EA/Origin Access members, but it appears that launch is not without its issues. According to players, servers have hit capacity and many are stuck on the start screen and informed that "services are currently unavailable". EA Help tweeted that it is aware of the issue and is working to address it ASAP.

The Activision Blizzard Investor Relations call is underway and Kotaku is reporting that the layoff process has started with employees being informed today. "We didn't execute as well as we had hoped in 2018 and fell below what we might expect. We didn't achieve the player reach and goals we set for 2018." said Bobby Kotick. In all the years I've been doing this, I don't think I've ever gone into a review anxious. I've been looking forward to Anthem since its announcement at EA Play in 2017, but that demo EA put out a couple of weeks ago rattled me. I've only spent a couple of hours with the launch version of the game, but I'm glad to be able to report that, at least so far, things are looking a whole lot better.

Ubisoft has announced that The Division 2 is being primed for an open beta event that will take place from March 1st to March 4th. The open beta will be available for PC, XBox One and PlayStation 4. The event is coming just two weeks ahead of the March 15th launch.

This was a tough week for anyone who works for Blizzard Entertainment or anyone who is a fan of the games. The Blizzard community has grown and fostered over many years now. Always heightened at BlizzCon the company was preaching unity, equality, and passion for their games worldwide. This message rung true to millions and it showed. However, all that began to take a turn for the worse these past few months.
