The Secret World: Funcom's Magnum Opus
As one of the early contenders for Game of the Year, Funcom's The Secret World has been in live retail release for a month now. We've got our official review of The Secret World for your viewing pleasure. Keep reading and then leave us your thoughts in comments.

Aesthetically speaking, The Secret World is one of the prettiest games I've ever seen particularly if played using DirectX 11. Each zone has its own look, sound and tone created through a fluid combination of music, ambient sounds, a brilliant color palette and mobs of monsters that fit the setting. Seoul, London and New York are filled with the typical sounds of cities and all are bustling with activity of one sort or another. Sometimes it's nothing short of breathtaking and you find yourself standing there in awe.

Star Wars: The Old Republic: Free-to-Play This Fall

Read on!

Players have been wondering about it, journalists have been begging for it, and it seems that all this time BioWare's been listening and reacting. After being informed of the then embargoed announcement this morning, I had the rare opportunity to sit in on a call with BioWare's Jeff Hickman and Matthew Bromberg (who recently took over as GM of the Austin studio. We talked about the timing, the reasons, and the way in which they believe SWTOR going F2P is just finally giving the players what they've wanted, and breaking down the barrier into the Old Republic once and for all. The call was brief, but this is what I've learned.
