The World of Warcraft community site has been updated with the news that the Warlords of Draenor expansion alpha test has officially kicked off. In addition, the team has announced that the "MPQ" file storage system is going the way of the dodo in favor of a new file system called "CASC" (Content Addressable Storage Container).

The Elder Scrolls Online is easily the most anticipated and biggest MMO launch since Star Wars: The Old Republic. Indeed, many people probably wrote ESO off as another SWTOR in terms of hype and let down, but so far... I believe those people are mistaken. There are a lot of wonderful design choices in ESO, some not so great ones, and plenty of bugs to grind an axe on. But in my nearly 20 hours played since head start, one thing's prevailed: I'm having a lot of fun, and the rabbit hole keeps going deeper.

Blizzard has announced that its card game, Hearthstone, has officially been released for iPad in Canada, Australia, and New Zealand. Players can get hold of the game via the iPad App Store. Blizzard expects to roll out Hearthstone for more countries in the near future.

At last week's Game Developers Conference, people were lined up to try Sony's new virtual reality tech and from all the hubbub, it appeared VR's become the new (old) brass ring in game development the way the Kinect and the PSMove were a few years ago. It's fairly amazing, the current level of enthusiasm for a tech that's been around for some time now and because of this I can't help but wonder; isn't VR just a resurrected retro gimmick?

RaiderZ is a free-to-play MMORPG developed by MAIET Entertainment and published in North America by Perfect World Entertainment and in Europe by Gameforge Berlin AG. The game puts players in the roles of Berserker, Cleric, Defender, and Sorcerer, in order to defend the kingdom of Rendel from hordes of colossal and vicious beasts. Countless creatures are being awakened and mutated by the Prime Stone, and have begun to slip through the last weakening barrier between human and beast, and it's up to players to beat them back and save Rendel from destruction.
