A new limited-time event, new pets, and even hints at the next planned later major content update are on the way for Zenith: The Last City. There’s a new preview of minor update 1.2.2 as it opens up for PTR testing, as well as studio news and a look to the future.

In this next minor update, aimed for February 9-15th, there will be a limited time event that serves to foreshadow what’s coming in update 1.3. Also in this patch will be some new pets and a number of balance changes, feature updates, and fixes.

New pets include the Baby Arboruht, and Amara’s Wings, which you can capture and make your pet. There’s also a Mecha Dingbo pet, which will be a preorder reward for those that preorder Zenith on PlayStation VR (coming February 22nd). Fallen Friend, Dazzling Fallen Friend, and Precursor Fallen Friend are listed as new pets as well, along with Fallen monsters for the new world boss event.

That new world boss event refers to the Skyward world boss event in the update. The rest of the update includes the new AI moderation tool for voice chat, updated pet perks, a rebalanced Arboruht to be a more difficult encounter, and more.

One of the  other changes in the patch notes is updated game credits that reflect new staff. There's a brand new letter from co-founder and CEO Andy Tsen. The team working on Zenith has grown to 25 people. Among them are new additions Dave Maldonado, who worked on New World and World of Warcraft, and Giancarlo Surla, who founded VR studio Paper Crane Games.

The Ramen VR team is planning for the next major content update, 1.3, and Tsen announced a very limited pre-alpha for February 10-13th. Will be under strict NDA but the team will be looking to announce ways to get an invite via their social media. The patch will bring the previously-announced Cyber Ninja, introduce player housing, and much more that they’re keeping under wraps for now. Tsen calls this update one that “has the potential to change Zenith forever”.
