The Elder Scrolls Online’s 10th anniversary celebration is still going to continue into 2025, but one event won’t be part of the celebratory slate anymore: a North American in-person community event.
Back in the spring, the team held an in-person event in Europe, unveiling a lot more about the expected anniversary content and roadmap, as well as Gold Road in Amsterdam. Back in August, they announced more anniversary information, including free gifts and events that have since come out this fall.
One of the other announcements was a North American community event for the anniversary. This one was set to take place on Saturday, September 21st, in San Diego. Plans were in place for free food, chances to hang out with the devs and to gather for the anniversary.

Today, ZeniMax canceled the event, sharing the news via ESO socials. There was no specific reason given for the cancelation, with the statement that included:
“While we will continue to celebrate a decade of ESO with in-game content, activities, rewards and more, we will no longer be hosting an additional large-scale in-person event in North America. This was a difficult decision to make – we love hanging with the ESO family! – and we plan to continue holding smaller gatherings in various global locations, including meetups at industry events.”
The 10th anniversary will continue to be represented in game and through other events, but if you booked travel for the Elder Scrolls Online event, it’s time to get those plans changed if you can. The original event date also coincides with TwitchCon 2025, so that might be an option.
