EverQuest II’s new PvP Time-Locked Expansion server, Zarrakon, is now live. There’s a new brief launch teaser to mark the latest of the TLE offerings.

Zarrakon is open to those who have All Access memberships, and as stated, it is a PvP server. This means faction-based PvP is in the offering, and expected continual unlocking of new content over time, as with other TLE servers.

Darkpaw Games originally planned a beta for Zarrakon, but changed plans last month and simply decided to polish things up and launch. Zarrakon has launched with Shattered Lands, Deserts of Flame, and Kingdom of Sky expansions. This means that mid content is active in Kingdom of Sky. In addition, expect Turquoise adornments, slots, PvP writs and PvP specific rewards included in the live launch.

This is also opening as a free trade server, and anything on TLE servers aside from XP potions will be available on this new server.

One of the draws to Zarrakon is PvP. If you’ve been on a PvP server before, and are generally familiar with a TLE release cadence, this one should work at a similar pace. Betrayal is also in play. Change of Citizenship NPCs will offer tokens that offer the option to betray once every 24 hours. There will be additional opportunities to betray through completing city betrayal quests.

So if you’ve been looking for a new start with lots of challenges available as you progress anew, Zarrakon is now available for subscribers.

This opening follows recent changes to the Lore & Legend server, Kael Drakkel. Kael Drakkel got new server-wide buffs for characters, a new Green Adornment that you could earn and then take back to a live server or TLE, and a series of new armor appearances that could also cross servers. A free to access period for Kael Drakkel ended yesterday, and was open to all players, including non-subscribers. If you are eligible to play on Kael Drakkel, then you can go get those special items and use them on Zarrakon or live.
