Good news if you still have your old Diablo 2 saves lying around. They’ll work with Diablo 2: Resurrected, allowing you to continue your journey where you left off.
The exciting news arrives from IGN Middle East (via PC Gamer) in an interview with Producer Matthew Cederquist. It turns out that these saves will work through pure curiosity on the developers’ part. He noted that while they were working on the remaster, they just tried old saves for the heck of it,
“Yes! Keep your old save files. Back when we were working on [the remaster], we wondered if the old save files would work, so we kind of shoved it in, and it worked! So yes, your local singleplayer save files will carry over."
This should no doubt be great news to those of us still carrying around 20 year old saves. In related news, you should definitely be on the lookout for any Diablo 2: Resurrected scams trying to lure you into the PC tech alpha.
Diablo 2: Resurrected is scheduled for release later this year on PC and console. Additionally, you can look forward to cross-play with the title.
