XLGames will be releasing a "remastered" version of ArcheAge in Korea in January. The remastered AA will only be available on a brand new server called Orchidnia and is based on "five years of experience operating ArcheAge". XLG also seems to hint that this could be more widely released as "a new beginning for ArcheAge", though no specific information was given about future deployments of the remaster.
Using Google Translate on the AA KR site, here's what we know:
- players can look forward to balance tweaks and equipment upgrades. These have been tested twice by focus groups
- raids and hunting grounds will "change dynamically" to keep the battlefield fun
- quality of life adjustments are being made
- the server is named after Orchidnia, the main figure in advertising when AA first launched
- limited character slots at launch
- ticket stores will be reorganized
- players can register for the Orchidnia server starting December 28th and through December 31st
