Despite some early pains for XDefiant, the game has done incredible numbers for Ubisoft following its launch last week.
According to a report at Insider Gaming, the free-to-play shooter cleared one million unique players just two and a half hours after its launch, becoming Ubisoft’s fastest game to achieve that figure and topping EA’s Apex Legends debut. For reference, Apex Legends netted one million players in eight hours and reached 2.5 million players within 24 hours.
The numbers have continued for XDefiant as well. Just two days after launch, XDefiant cleared three million unique players and 300,000 concurrent users across its available platforms.
If you’re wondering how you can improve your XDefiant performance, executive producer Mark Rubin offered some helpful advice in a new post shared to Twitter/X this weekend: just click heads.
OK here is the most duh obvious PSA I can give you but it's also insanely important:HIT THOSE HEAD SHOTS!!!!Head shots are super powerful in this game. They change the TTK sooooo much. Takes practice but that's what this game is about. It want's you to get better.

Mark revealed that the game puts a huge emphasis on landing headshots and doing so will dramatically impact your TTK. This sounds fairly obvious, but perhaps players deal even more damage with headshots in XDefiant than one would find in its competitors.
Ubisoft also recently announced its plans for monetization in XDefiant. In a blog shared on its website, the studio committed to three pillars of monetization: no pay-to-win, rewarding players’ time, and prioritizing customization.
XDefiant is now available on PC, PlayStation 5, and Xbox Series X|S.
