It’s already mid August, and with World of Warcraft preparing to release Wrath of the Lich King Classic on September 26th, Blizzard has announced that the pre-patch for the expansion update will go live on August 30th.
When the pre patch goes live, the recently-announced Fresh Start realms will be available on August 30th. Classic players can begin creating Death Knights and begin to check out the system updates and changes. If you are already playing through The Burning Crusade Classic, there will be a 50% XP buff called Joyous Journeys that will help you prepare for the Wrath of the Lich King Classic release in late September. There's also a calendar of what to expect in the run-up to launch and beyond.
From September 6th through 13th the Zombie Plague event will take place. On September 13th, the Scourge Invasion event begins in Azeroth. You’ll have to fight back against the attacking Necropolis and Scourge forces.
Beginning a week later on September 20th, and running through October 6th, is the Brewfest event. In addition to the previous events also giving you chances at rewards, Brewfest will let you get souvenirs and achievements and celebrate the arrival of fall.
On September 26th, Wrath of the Lich King Classic launches at 3 p.m. Pacific time and all can log in and start their new adventure. October 4th and 5th will begin Arena season 5 with the weekly reset. Finally, on October 6th, Naxxramas, the Eye of Eternity, and the Obsidian Sanctum will become available for all takers.
If you're a World of Warcraft Classic player looking forward to stepping into another expansion in just over a month, now the schedule is clear for completing any last-minute Burning Crusade Classic activities, using the Joyous Journeys bonus to level up, and get ready for the launch.
