The next phase of World of Warcraft Classic Season of Discovery is coming on July 11th. Phase 4 will raise the level cap to 60, add new runes, a new world event, and much more.
The team has been dropping hints about what they’re bringing to Phase 4, sharing earlier this month a little on the direction they're taking. Some of those changes and additions include the addition of new runes, and some existing runes becoming baseline abilities, class adjustments, profession updates, and dungeon updates.
Now that the new phase date has been announced, the team is revealing much more info (but still keeping a few secrets). All Classic zones will be open, to start your way to 60, collect epic mounts, new runes for each class, and even utilize the new cloak gear slot. If you need to do some heavy duty catching up, the Discoverer's Delight buff will give you +150% XP gain from levels 1 to 49 and, from 50-59, a +50% XP bonus. Nightmare Incursions will be added to the daily quest hubs.
There are some dungeon updates to look out for, with updated rewards and new dungeons that you can start hitting once you reach level 60. The second half of Blackrock Depths will be available, along with Blackrock Spire, three wings of Dire Maul, Scholomance, Stratholme, and a new mystery dungeon.
The changes the team announced recently is that world bosses Lord Kazzak and Azuregos will be instanced encounters that you can take on as a 20 player group or with a faster, more PUG-friendly 40 players. They will be tuned for 20 players though, which offers the best reward chances. They’ll unlock on July 18th at 1:00 p.m. PDT.
Blackrock Eruption is the new world event coming. Ragnaros disturbing Blackrock Mountain And there will be some more of the story behind all of this upheaval that is going on with this recurring event. It is a timed event that will happen every two hours and spawn creatures, daily quests, and bonus honor rewards from PvP.
Molten Core and Onyxia’s Lair raids will unlock on July 25th, with the first for 20 players and the latter for 40. A new variable difficulty mechanic will let you take these on at different difficulties, and the team promises more raid changes and surprises.
