Bossa has announced that Worlds Adrift will be closing down in July. While proud of what was achieved, developers cite a lack of commercial viability due to not reaching "the level of popularity it needs to continue". The letter further states that too much development time was spent "making the game work rather than making it the experience we wanted it to be".
From now through the game's closure in July, all items in the in-game shop will be gifted to every player. In addition, copies of both Surgeon Simulator and I Am Bread are being handed out as thanks for taking part in the journey.
Worlds Adrift will not be sailing quietly into the night. We will host an End of the World event which will be live streamed on Twitch and will feature an AMA with the team. The exact date and details of this event will be announced here and on our other community channels (Twitter,Facebook, Steam Forum and Discord) soon.
