World of Warships gets some new features, new ships, overhauls to Commander skills, and some special anniversary goodies.
One of the biggest changes in 12.10 on PC is a series of commander skill updates. The team has applied the changes to what they’re calling unpopular and underperforming skills for destroyers, cruisers, and battleships. To make the decisions on what to change, they used a combination of data and player feedback. Some include removal of certain effects and adding others, while other categories just get added new bonuses. The list is extensive, so checking out the full patch notes before jumping in is a good idea.
The update also adds more Japanese battleships in Early Access, each suitable for long-range battles with their large caliber guns. There’s an all-new Battle Pass as well, with a nod to Black Friday, as the final reward this season is 3x Black Friday 2023 containers on the free pass, and the premium pass also gets a “permanent economic bonus package for a Tier VIII ship”. With this Battle Pass season, the team will be testing different variations of progression to let them gauge how things are going. The rewards will be the same, but the progression options may look different for you and a friend.
Asymmetric Battles are also coming back, starting November 23rd. 2 weeks after the update, you'll be able to play Tier VI-X ships and any superships. Get matched into a team of five players, and fight against 12 Bots that will be slightly lower than the average tier and the player team. This will run through January 9th.
World of Warships is also marking six years on Steam, with some giveaways, sales, and more. This will include free DLC, new Commander Steam-chan, a new Steam Chan global mission, and goodies like a Steam container, flag, camouflages, along with heavily discounted DLC.
