World of Warships is adding a series of Commonwealth cruisers in the Match update.the update also adds a new event at the end of the month, Piñata Hunt, that introduces a new mechanic for April Fools’ Day.
There are 10 cruisers in the update to represent various Commonwealth nations. Entering Early Access, the set of historical ships are described as having good damage, but slow turrets. There are light and heavy cruisers to choose from, and improvements to guns starting from Tier VIII.
The addition of these ships into the Early Access pool also comes with a Commonwealth Team event pass, with two progression tracks of 20 levels each to get started on. Rewards include Commander Harold Fancomb, camouflages, containers, and tokens for the Armory. This is a special event pass that replaces daily missions with weekly ones, simplifying progression.
Piñata Hunt is coming at the end of March, and the event will be as colorful as it sounds. To play, set up two teams of seven Tier VIII-IX ships to compete in a brightly decorated take on the Hotspot map. The event adds a new mechanic, support consumables. There are eight of them, with five unlockable through purchases or combat missions.
Your goal is to race around and sink a special piñata ship to win rewards like Piñata Tokens, permanent festive camouflages, a patch, and flag. The fun doesn't end (or even begin) there, as when you start this race, all the ships that compete will be decorated in a random selection of camouflages themed for the event. And, if one of your enemies takes out your ship, it will explode with a new piñata animation, adding something fun to your destruction.
The patch also features new features and improvements, particularly for submarines. These include adjustments to add distance based damage, improve the proximity awareness to other subs, and also improving terrain visibility underwater.
