It's World of Warcraft's 20th anniversary, and now that The War Within is out, the team is ready to shift gears to the 20th anniversary events and a number of new options, including more Dracthyr class options,  to celebrate.

There are several major new anniversary announcements, including a new WoWCast dedicated to the events, and some devblogs to prepare everyone. The event will take place all through November and December, which is appropriate because it's packed.

One major new development as part of the 20th anniversary celebration update is the introduction of new class choices for the Dracthyr. Now, you can pick Hunter, Mage, Priest, Rogue, Warlock, or Warrior. Of course, you can continue to create the Evoker introduced in Dragonflight.

The event will feature a new currency, Bronze Celebration Tokens, to spend on new and returning anniversary items. Molten Corgi, anyone? Hatespark the Tiny?

There’s even a new mount to add to your collection, this time patterned after one Blizzard awards to its employees. The Coldflame Tempest mount could be yours. Even the WoW Trading Post gets in on the anniversary theme, with the monthly bonus being four back appearance shields representing the four original Warcraft III factions.

The Blackrock Depths raid dungeon is ready to offer a blast from the past, welcoming back groups to challenge the eight epic bosses on Normal or Heroic difficulty. Another blast from the past is inherent in the tier 2 Armor appearance sets. There are sets for  all 13 classes, and newly created ones for the classes that didn’t exist on the original release. No one is left out, as every class has the opportunity to get one of these modernized sets.

Timewalking is the ultimate blast from the past, and an appropriate anniversary activity. A new event will take you through the original Deadmines, Zul’Farrak, Dire Maul (east and west wings), and Stratholme’s living and undead dungeons. Timewalking vendors for the 20th anniversary will also offer a few special items.

Chromie also needs some help,  and there's a new scenario for 10 to 20 players where you can help her out. Look out for other event quests.

The past also arrives with some new accompaniments in the world bosses you can challenge. Azuregos, Doomwalker, Lord Kazzak, and the Dragons of Nightmare are joined by the Sha of Anger and Archavon the Stonewatcher.

The World of Warcraft 20th anniversary event will hit the PTR soon.
