If you’ve had questions on Legendaries in patch 9.1, World of Warcraf’ts Ion Hazzikostas may have some answers. In a recent interview, he discussed several details, including whether or not you can refund Legendaries.

The interview was carried out by Raider.io Chinese Community Liaison Douyou streamer LingHunFuSu, who also goes by Neo. The interview itself was published over at Douyu, with the interview conducted prior to the start of the PTR.

The bits about 9.1 are of note since they discuss some long-standing community questions. These points touched on whether or not we can refund of disenchant Legendaries, the extent of the catchup mechanic, and more.

Unfortunately, if you were hoping for good news on the first topic, prepare to be disappointed. According to Ion, there are no plans in place to allow for refunds or disenchanting of Legendaries. As he explained,

“We don't have any current plans along those lines right now, but it's something that we can look at, providing some way of either changing your secondary stats or getting a partial refund. The thing we'd want to be careful to avoid is a world where it feels too easy to make one legendary for one situation (PvE), then disenchant or change it to a different one to go PvP, and you don't really feel like you ever need to build a collection. But I agree that making a mistake there feels like it could be frustrating, and we should do more.”

Regarding the catchup, it turns out that, yes, there will be plenty of it in 9.1. This includes both new players and alts. As Ion notes, it’s imperative that you can get to a Legendary without having to wait for several weeks,

“It's going to be much more important for you to be able to get into the new content, to get a legendary without having to wait weeks for it, so that you can play with your friends and experience what everyone else is doing. So that will benefit both new and returning players, and alts.”

In recent WoW news, there’s a new book about Sylvanas set to release on November 9. If you grab the audiobook, you’ll hear Sylvanas’ voice actress herself, Patty Mattson, read you the book. And if you missed the Chains of Domination PTR patch notes, catch up here.

Ta, Wowhead.
