World of Warcraft just opened signups for The War Within beta, and the countdown that was on the Blizzard Gear site has now revealed the full War Within 20th Anniversary Collector’s Edition.
Some were initially wondering, after Diablo 4’s CE did not, whether the collector's edition would even include the game, but it does. For $180, you get The War Within Epic Edition game key. That edition of the game comes with special perks like an enhanced level 70 character boost, a 3-day Early Access window, 30 days of game time, and some in-game goodies.
For the collectors, those in-game items are an Algarian Stormrider mount, Stormrider’s Attire Transmog Set, Deepdweller’s Earthen Hearthstone Effect, the Sandbox Storm Gryphon Toy, Squally, the Storm Hatchling pet, and 1,000 Trader’s Tender to spend on even more stuff.
Physical goods in the set include The War Within artbook, a pin that features Anduin, Alleria, and Thrall, and a Gryphon Rider statue. Between the statue, the toy, the mount, and the pet, you can definitely note the gryphon theme going on here.
One thing that is not part of the collector’s edition that many had thought would be is a soundtrack.
Of course, now that the set has been formally unveiled, what we still don't know yet is a release date, but that is to come. The WoW team has been dripping out info about some of the new systems to expect in the expansion and World of Warcraft’s roadmap has the expansion somewhere between summer and fall, so we have to hold on a bit longer for details.
It is a huge year for World of Warcraft, as that 20th anniversary designation reminds us. The War Within 20th Anniversary Collector’s Edition is available to preorder now.
