For those eagerly awaiting the beta of the first real expansion of World of Warcraft Classic, your wait is over. The Burning Crusade Classic's beta is now live, though you'll need to have been received an invite to join in the fun.

Officially announced during last month's BlizzConlineThe Burning Crusade Classic brings World of Warcraft's first expansion pack to the Classic version of the MMO. Rumors circulated after a leaked email indicated that the beta test might start this month, and with today's post on the WoW website, that has all but been confirmed. The Burning Crusade Classic's beta is now live, and for those who are part of the first opt-in test should start to see emails trickle through to download the client.

"The Burning Crusade Classic beta test has begun! Over the course of the test, we’ll be inviting opt-in beta testers and more to check out the upcoming Classic expansion and give us feedback.

Players selected to participate in the beta test will receive an email invitation directing them to download the beta client directly from the Battle.net desktop app. As always, please be aware of phishing attempts—if you’re unsure whether your invitation is legitimate, please log in to your Battle.net account to verify that there is a Burning Crusade Classic beta license attached (under Your Game Accounts)."

For those who are among the chosen, you can head to the announcement on the official website for more details on how to get set up. If you're interested in learning more into how the team at Blizzard is bringing The Burning Crusade to Classic, make sure to check out Robin's interview with the team from BlizzConline last month.
