World of Warcraft Classic’s next Season of Discovery phase is on the way, and the team is previewing what’s in development, along with some changes on the way.
While the new development preview doesn’t include any release window, it does give a lot of hints on the direction they’re taking. Some of what we're getting is to be expected, such as the level cap increased to 60, new runes, class changes, and updated and newly added dungeons. At level 60, take on the second half of Blackrock Depths, Blackrock Spire, Dire Maul, Scholomance, and Stratholme, with these dungeons getting updated rewards. Expect PvP class sets for Rank 10 too.
Still, with Classic’s Season of Discovery phases, there’s always room for some surprises.
Two of those include the new Lord Kazzak and Azuregos as new instanced encounters tuned as 20-player content, but doable with up to 40. Additionally, Onyxia will get adjustments to accommodate 40 or fewer players, with loot tweaks. The Molten Core raid dungeon is also getting some changes. As a 20-player dungeon, you get to take on 10 bosses, with loot changes, redesigned Tier 1 sets, and a brand new variable difficulty mechanic.
There’s another surprise planned too, but the team is keeping that one under wraps for players to discover. And discover they will, given how all three phases have gone so far with the adventurous mystery solvers in record times.
For those other features, in addition to content that will enable you to level to 60, with an updated Discoverer's Delight buff, there’s a new Cloak rune slot, a rune slot for Rings, and new runes for each class. Some class adjustments are on the way, with some select runes turning into baseline abilities. Utility Runes also enter the fray, with additional skill bonuses on offer when you acquire them.
