Aberrus, The Shadowed Crucible is a new World of Warcraft: Dragoflight raid coming in the Embers of Neltharion update on May 2nd. Today, Blizzard announced more details about the new level 70 raid, along with unlock times and details on the new bosses.

There will be nine bosses to challenge in this new raid, which is a level 70 instance, and has a Raid Finder minimum item level of 390. The first unlocks will happen the week of May 8th, starting with the Normal, Heroic, Mythic, difficulties and Raid Finder Wing 1. Following the opening, the next phases will begin rolling out between May and June.

The week of May 22nd will see Raid Finder Wing 2 open up. The week of June 5th opens Raid Finder Wing 3, and Raid Finder Wing 4 opens up the week of June 19th.

So, about those nine bosses? Well, they will be your goals, of course, but there will be lots to see (and slay) along the way. The first boss is Kassara, The Hellforged, and she reflects some of Neltharion’s cruel experiments. Given the lore in these new chapters of the Dragonflight story, this theme will be prevalent throughout.

“The end result of elementium and shadowflame was Kazzara, who was deemed far too unstable to release. Driven mad by the excruciating pain of her elementium plates, she now serves as the guardian of the Shadowed Crucible.”  Still, you’ll have to defeat her to get to the rest.

Among the other bosses, you’ll find The Forgotten Experiments, which are some of the early forms of Neltharion’s experimentation in the creation of the dracthyr. Other enemies are represented by the Zaqali. There’s also the three-headed lava hydra, Magmorax. The final two bosses are particularly lore significant too.

In addition to all of the bosses to defeat, there are a number of new achievements to earn, including progress towards the Meta Achievement “Aberrus, the Shadowed Crucible”.
