Classic servers are wildly popular, and a group of players are taking it upon themselves in World of Warcraft Classic to recreate a "fresh start" server in Classic.
The idea behind the movement is to create a classic server where players can reboot the Classic experience on a fresh server, one that is not filled with bots and more, according to a report by Eurogamer. The server, which is estimated to see around 1300 players join up, will launch on March 5th with players re-rolling new characters on the Classic server in the hopes of creating a fresh World of Warcraft vanilla experience for those looking for one.
Eurogamer spoke to Caszhar, the player who started "The Fresh Crusade," as the server is now being called, who described the intent to create an experience for those who will feel left behind when The Burning Crusade Classic hits Classic.
As such, the hope is creating an environment where players can level up with like-minded World of Warcraft adventurers and, as a server, eventually move from Classic to The Burning Crusade Classic over time. The official Discord server mentions that The Fresh Crusade will be a PvP server, with seven guilds total joining in the fun split across Alliance and Horde. The Fresh Crusade is an EU initiative, so if you're non-EU, the Discord makes mention you'll need to purchase a World of Warcraft subscription on an EU account in order to join in the initiative.
World of Warcraft: The Burning Crusade Classic was officially announced at BlizzConline last month, with the company stating that there will two different servers for those who want to continue the Classic experience pre-TBC as well as the regular servers which will start to transition to the expansion as the launch nears. We recently spoke with the developers behind The Burning Crusade Classic, talking about what players can expect when the update to the Classic servers rolls out.
