World of Warcraft is free to play for players up to a certain point, but there are plenty of fans who have left Azeroth for one reason or another. Those players, who might have to pay the sub just to jump back in a for a few days, have a chance to check out what's changed since the last time they were in the World...of Warcraft thanks to a Welcome Back Weekend.
Welcome Back Weekend will give all Warcraft players full access to the game, assuming you had an inactive account (sorry current subscribers - you're still being charged for the weekend). Players will be able to hop in with any character and check out Azeroth as it is now, prepping for Shadowlands.
Explore the latest updates and prepare for #Shadowlands without the need for a subscription, now through November 8. https://t.co/CxQSEPxT8g

The Welcome Back Weekend ends on November 8th, so you don't have a lot of time to rejoin guildies and relive the old days. Should you decide to stick with WoW again, Shadowlands is on the horizon, releasing on November 23rd at 3pm PT.
If you're new to World of Warcraft, you'll be able to check out the new starting region - be sure to check out our new player's guide for everything you'll need to know when starting out in World of Warcraft.
