During today's Warcraft 30th Anniversary Direct, Blizzard unveiled the news that World of Warcraft is finally getting player housing with its next expansion, Midnight.
Midnight, you'll recall, is the second part of the Worldsoul Saga Trilogy announced at last year's BlizzCon, picking up after the events of the current expansion, The War Within. While we got plenty of news about what's to come for World of Warcraft in the near future, the stream ended with a small tease of the much-requested feature.
While no details were specifically given, the short trailer clearly evoked what Blizzard was going for: player housing. The trailer shows a character walking into their home, walls lined with trophies and other knick-knacks, furniture to rest a sword on as well as any weary adventurer themselves, all while taking a swig from a tankard of ale. "Home Sweet Home" was carved into the side of the mug, effectively confirming what I feel many of us suspected the second we saw the cozy space.
It's a long time coming for the MMO, and it's one of the most requested features from its community, so it's exciting to see it finally on the horizon. More details will be coming next year, but let the speculation begin. What are you hoping to see out of a World of Warcraft's upcoming housing system? Let us know in the comments.
