Today is the day that the Dark Heart update goes live in World of Warcraft Dragonflight, where we once again meet with Khadgar in Dalaran.
We have known that Dark Heart would be coming for a while now, and the day is finally here to embark on a new questline that sets the stage for the upcoming expansion The War Within. Once we make our way to Dalaran, we learn a Harbinger has a relic that we must take right out of their hands; The Dark Heart. We won’t be venturing forth alone, though, as none other than Alleria Windrunner will be tagging along in order to give us more context as to what exactly happened here.
Alongside the new content, we also get six new hair colors to try out on any of our Kul Tiran characters, as well as some balance changes for several classes. The Oozing Necroray Egg obtained from Tribute of the Ambitious and Tribute of Duty Bound has received an increased drop rate, and all of the Dragonflight quests that became available with renown levels can now be accessed on all max-level characters no matter what level their renown is. This allows plenty of time to get through any content you may have missed before we dive head first into the first of the saga, The War Within.
With the Dark Heart release also comes new heritage armor for both Draenei and Trolls, giving players more to collect before the start of The War Within. You will need to be at least level 50 to begin the questlines, and once complete you can sport your race with pride.
Servers are set to go back up at 3 pm PDT, so we still have some time to kill before being able to jump into the new content.
Not only are we getting the Dark Heart update and content today, but we also will be able to try our hand at the Mists of Pandaria Remix event in just a few days on May 16th, where we start as a fresh new character in the land of the Pandas once again. Leveling will be much faster than it was back in the day, and we will have access to new loot, chests, creatures, and bosses as we make progress.
There is also a short story that gives us a little bit more insight as to what’s to come and gives context as to why Alleria is known to many as a threat rather than the brilliant defender she once was.
