World of Warcraft Classic has swung the doors open again for free character transfers. An updated list of the source and destination realms has been posted, and the next round is now active for those who might want a switch but were maybe waiting for the free round to open again.

For those whose servers have been a little full recently, your friends play elsewhere, or you just need a change, you can now transfer from Anathema, Arcanite, Reaper, Bigglesworth, Blaumeux, Deviate, Delight, Fairbanks, Felstriker, Heartseeker, Herod, Incendius, Kirtonos, Kromcrush, Loatheb, Netherwind, Rattlegore, Skeram, Smolderweb, Stalagg, Sul’thraze, Thalnos, or Thunderfury. Each of these is now cleared for a free transfer to a select group of new servers each.

Naturally, the free character transfers are bound by a series of guidelines, with the basic idea that you’ll have to clear out all your trades and mail, as well as disband or transfer leadership of any guilds you might lead. Of course, when it comes to World of Warcraft, should your character have a name matching someone else in the target realm, you’ll have to rename your character. In a game like WoW, that’s probably easier said than done at this point.

Still, there are plenty of reasons one might feel more comfortable starting on a new server. With World of Warcraft The Burning Crusade Classic getting additional updates recently, including the arrival of The Black Temple, it may be a good time to open up easier grouping with friends to take on the additional content.

For more on all of the available groupings you can transfer to, you can take a look at the official listing. The rules on free transfers are also worth a look if you haven’t used a transfer before. It should help things go smoothly and avoid some pain if you don’t  clear out or save info first.
