The War Within Season 2 is coming and the World of Warcraft team has announced some Mythic + updates on the way. Before they go live,  you'll be able to test them out on the Undermine(d) PTR as that rolls out soon.

In Season 1, We saw a number of changes, and feedback tended to express a lot of frustration, particularly when it came to pick up groups. There were also lot of different mechanics at once, and many felt that failure was overly punishing and rewards didn't measure up for that amount of frustration and challenge. Players did what they could to mitigate the issues and work out a number of specs to help, but Blizzard is hoping to make the foundation more workable.

When it came to lower tier, particularly Mythic 2-6, there was a shortage of players since the introduction of Delves meant that a lot of people were bypassing the early ters and jumping right into Mythic 7. This was worse after the first few weeks of the season were over since demand had moved on even more.

They are making several important changes, including that Baseline Mythic dungeons will give Champion-track gear from each boss. The rewards have been improved, so enemies' health and damage will rise to compensate for the better rewards. From Mythic 2-10, expect health and damage scaling per level reduced to make progression more doable.

Xal’atath’s Bargain Rotating affixes will move up to Mythic 4 and Tyrannical and  Fortified affixes will shift up to Mythic 7 and replace Challenger’s Peril. At Mythic 12, there won't be another increase to enemy health, you'll have an increased timer penalty for death that used to belong to Challenger’s Peril. This is intended to make continued progression into the higher tiers feel smoother.

Some of the reward tiers also get reduced requirements in order to overall create a system that provides a smoother progression journey, some lower difficulty, and importantly, to Keep things challenging without feeling impossible and overly frustrating. if you put in the effort, the rewards should feel like something you want to work for.

The announcement has full details on all of the changes they're looking to make, and the PTR should have all of these new changes in the next week or two.
