Wargaming is putting on a heavy metal show once again in the latest Metal Fest collaboration hitting World of Tanks Modern Armor. This time, the headliners will be Motörhead, featuring Lemmy Kilmister, and Rob Zombie.
Like last year, the musical collaboration will involve these acts bringing their style and their sound to World of Tanks. The event opens on July 30th and runs for 3 weeks through August 20th.
You can expect a new skin for the FV107 Scimitar tank tank inspired by Motörhead’s “Bomber” and a new tank inspired by “Ace of Spades”. Fittingly, there’s a fully integrated version of their late singer, Lemmy Kilmister. The surviving members of the band worked with the developers to create an AI emulation of Lemmy’s voice that is based on original, authentic voice samples from recordings from interviews, booth sessions, and his private archives.
This makes it possible for Lemmy to be one of the two special 3D commanders for the collaboration, which also includes the band's mascot, Warpig. The rest of the band is also commemorated with 2D commanders, cosmetics, and more to collect during the event.
Rob Zombie will be the maestro of the collaboration, and will also be available as a 3D commander. There will be a number of Rob Zombie inspired in game items, including a new tank, and a skin for the M53/M55, based on the songs “Dragula” and “Superbeast”. there are also exclusive cosmetic items to change the look of your tanks.
Last year’s Metal Fest featured bands like Iron Maiden, Megadeth, and Sabaton, And they're coming back this year. the limited time offerings that were introduced last year will be available again for a limited time.
Your chance to get into all the new content and scoop up some of the returning stuff will begin next week in World of Tanks Modern Armor.
